Ljubno ob Savinji Youth Hostel is located in the Upper Savinja Valley, surrounded by the peaks of the Savinja Alps and the Savinja River, with the Logar Valley, one of Slovenia’s well-known landscape parks, nearby. Ljubno is known for: flosarji (raftsmen) and flosarski bal (Raftsmen Ball), world ski jumping competition for women, Ljubno's Palm Sunday wooden artefacts made out of native tree wood representing the palm branches and savinjski želodec (a cured meat cut made from homestead pork meat and bacon, resembling the shape of a stomach).
The hostel is part of the Pevc Inn, a family guesthouse, operating for over 60 years. With excellent home-style cooking, owners have been preserving the culinary tradition of their ancestors and treating guests with care for decades. The hostel offers overnight stays, bed and breakfast, half-board and full board. It also offers privacy and at the same time provides insight into the authentic life of Slovenia’s countryside. During the warm parts of the year, food and drinks are served on the summer terrace overlooking Mount Raduha (2062m). In the winter, you can warm up with delicacies in the rustic dining room, listening to the records on the old jukebox. For groups, there is a technically equipped conference room for 50 people available. There is free parking, free Wi-Fi and free rent-a-bike for hostel guests.
Private and dorm rooms are brightly coloured, with wooden flooring and solid furniture. Each room has its own bathroom. Three rooms have a balcony and others have a mountain view (Raduha, Ter-Golte, Komen). Bed linen, towels, hair dryer, liquid soap, cable TV, and Wi-Fi are included. Check-in, entry and check-out are available at opening hours of Guesthouse Pevc (daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), and early or late arrivals as well as pick up service are possible by prior arrangement.
There is a bus stop right in front of the hostel, and just a step away you can enjoy the park on the banks of the Savinja River with excellent conditions for fly fishing. You can also go rafting or swimming in the summer. There’s just a 10-minute walk to the old town and there are hiking trails, ranging from easy to advanced, in the surroundings of Ljubno. Nearby is the Golte Ski Resort and the Smrekovec mountain chain with the only Slovenian extinct volcano. We organise day trips and guided tours, which are under the guidance of local experts, for all kinds of adrenaline sports: mountain biking, hiking, rafting, canyoning, paintball, snowshoeing, and snowboarding. Welcome!
