Why not get away from the problems of everyday life to treat yourself to some Belgian waffles, chocolate and a glass of some good beer? This is exactly what life is about – to know how to enjoy it and recognise those sweet little things that free our soul from all the bad things along the way. And you can do all that in Brussels – you can treat your body and soul while also feeding the travel bug that, frankly, starts growling ferociously for another adventure as soon as the first one ends. First of all, you really need to visit the peeing boy. Yes, that’s right, Manneken Pis is the symbol of Brussels in the form of a bronze statue of a boy and is one of the city’s most popular attractions, so get ready for some elbowing if you want a good photo of the statue. You need to spend at least a day at the Belgian capital’s main square for a good impression, and retreat to one of the city parks if you seek refuge from the sun’s rays, such as the Parc du Cinquantenaire. If you want to take a really great photo, stop by at the Atomium structure that was originally built in 1958 as part of the Brussels World’s Fair and still stands today.
The European Union’s capital has many more places to offer, from well-known ones to more obscure ones, and even ones that are only known by the locals. Give in to the city vibes, get into the spirit of Brussels and leave the problems of everyday life behind, at least for a while.
