In the dunes

“As soon as I leave the mainland, the recovering begins!” many of the guests who stay at the Youth Hostel Westerland on the island Sylt say. The sea, the climate and the atmosphere in the house are convincing arguments for a relaxing holiday. Another reason for a visit is the great location of the Youth Hostel in the middle of the dunes, about 4 km south of the city centre. It’s only 200 metres to the bathing beach with soft sand. During the summer holidays the beach is watched by lifeguards from 10-17 o’clock.

The Club-Youth Hostel

The newest Youth Hostel at the North Sea Coast is located in “Neuharlingersiel” in East Frisia. The “DJH Resort” is the first Club-Youth Hostel in the world. For the first time the varying program, the food and beverages are all inclusive. On a surface of 30.000 square metres the guests can initiate action at the sport- and adventure islands or the enjoyment- and relaxing islands. While the toddlers are looked after, the adults have got time for everything the resort has to offer: Fitness, Beach Volleyball, Adventure tours to the mudflat, a Band Workshop at the “School of Rock”, a Massage or a Cappuccino at the in-house Café. The guests decide for their own wishes.

Holidays on the Island

At the Baltic Sea you can discover superlatives on the biggest German Island. The Youth Hostel Prora is the longest Youth Hostel in the world! The whole building is 4 km long and the renovated Youth Hostel is located in one part of it. The beach of the Baltic Sea is right on the doorstep. The Youth Hostel Prora offers interesting Programs like a visit of the National Park Jasmund as well as Surfing, Kayaking, Catamaran Trips, Boat Trips and a visit of the tree top paths in the area. 400 guests can stay at the Youth Hostel. Most of the rooms are equipped with shower and WC. Furthermore they have 250 spaces for camping.
