Discovering Georgia starts in its unique capital Tbilisi, a city on the Mktvari River, wirth flight connections from all over the world, usually with transfers at Istanbul Airport. Airport transfers to the city always require doing some research, so we recommend booking a cheap shuttle with an English speaking driver.

What should you see in the capital? You can simply walk the narrow streets to Freedom Square and the National Museum, and then you can visit the Narikala Fortress with gorgeous views. There are temples of different religions which you can visit. What else to do? Tbilisi is a great starting point for exploring the entire country. Georgia is well-known for its good wine and if you’re a wine lover you can go on a day trip to the Kakheti region which is perfect for travellers. There are beautiful churches and excellent wine cellars scattered all over the region. Just outside Tbilisi lies the ancient former capital Mtskheta where it’s worth taking a city tour, so you don’t miss anything. The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is something you definitely shouldn’t miss. Here you can get familiar with the Georgian identity. After that it’s high time to head to the mountains to the village of Stepansminda, an excellent starting point for exploring that can be accessed through high mountain passes. There you’ll be dazzled by the view of Mount Kazbek, reaching five thousand metres high, and other mountain tops. This is a great location for a day trip from Tbilisi that will definitely change you.

You also shouldn’t miss the monasteries in the Gareja desert, southeast of the capital city. The most famous of them is David Gareja monastery where you’ll be overcome by the spirit of early Christianity. You can go on all of these trips alone, since public transport is cheap and reliable. To conclude your journey, you can book private transfer and visit Batumi on the Black Sea coast with long stretches of sandy beaches and relaxed atmosphere.

Plan a trip to Georgia that will make everyone envy you. Discover a mix of culture and beautiful nature, from deserts to high mountains.
