The latest hostel to join the international HI-network in Finland is Hostel Rokua, which is situated right in the middle of Finland, halfway between the cities of Oulu and Kajaani. If you’re looking for a possibility to experience untouched and clean Nordic nature, this is the place to go.
You can either concentrate on taking it easy or you can take part in all the different activities organized at Rokua. During summertime you can taste fresh berries in the nearby woods or enjoy a refreshing swim in the lake. In the winter cross-country skiing tracks start from the doorstep. The hostel accommodation is in lovely cottages, which have all the amenities. There is also a restaurant serving Finnish cuisine. The hostel is open all year.
