Ravenna Festival 2009 - 20th edition (from 14/06 to 18/07)

Ravenna Festival is one of the most renown happening in the Italian summer festivals scene. This music and theatre event started first 16 years ago and in July 1997, Ravenna Festival was enriched with a special significance by "Progetto Amicizia"- building friendship, which each year brings "the Ravenna Festival" all over the world, remarking that music and the arts in general do cut all sort of distances.
It takes place in June and July and boasts a large range of proposals, from Byzantine music to Riccardo Muti and the Ravenna Orchestra, and various fascinating locations such as "Teatro Dante Alighieri", Dante Alighieri Theatre, in Ravenna,"I Magazzini del Sale", the old salt storage in Cervia, the "Basilica San Vitale", in Ravenna, the " Basilica di Sant'Apollinare" in Classe.

FILM FESTIVAL IN BOLOGNA(from 27/06 to 29/07)

Il Cinema Ritrovato (from 27/06 to 04/07) - Eight days dedicated to a pure passion for film and to its many varieties. From the eloquence of silent film to the spectacle of CinemaScope, passing across the fascination of films to discover, today, in new restorations.
Sotto le stelle del cinema (from 04/07 to 29/07) - A film screening ranging from the most recent to classical films, with the splendor of films in original language. Several films have been restored.

POETRY FESTIVAL IN PARMA (from 18/06 to 24/06)

Brimming with events over one week, the poetry festival Parmapoesiafestival features every year in June
Readings, meetings and talks. Besides promoting interest in and fostering love for the art of poetry as well as its knowledge and appreciation, the festival aims at encouraging contacts between poets and editors.

Where to sleep: the new Youth Hostel of Parma offers 20 rooms, 83 beds. Each room with private bath, shower and bidet. Air (cool and warm) conditioning. The Youth Hostel offers to its guests big common areas, equipped with TV, comfortable sofas where to read and relax, self service area for breakfast: meeting spaces for everybody willing to meet new friends in a simple but warm atmosphere.
