Hostel in the Triglav National Park

Hostel Pod Voglom is also a member of YH International. With its capacity of 119 beds it is the biggest youth hostel in Slovenia and it offers 3 kinds of accommodation (rooms with private bathroom, rooms with shared bathroom or dormitory rooms). Therefore, every year not only the young people but also many families visit the hostel and explore the surrounding which offers many possibilities for spending active holiday in the Triglav National Park.

Meanwhile, there is a garden near the hostel with the playground for children and it is also perfect for relaxing and reading a book in the shadow of the trees. Another part of the hostel offer are concerts, motorbike meetings and organization of barbecues for guests.

All over the year Hostel Pod Voglom also offers accommodation for school groups and organization of school outdoor programmes.

In the yard of the hostel is located the Pac sports outdoor centre and the high ropes course. In the hostel you can also rent boats, canoes and kayaks or mountain bikes. An interesting challenge for those who want more adrenaline is participating in rafting or canyoning or experiencing a paragliding trip with a tandem above the Bohinj lake.

In the winter time hostel offers a variety of possibilities how to spend your holiday. Its location offers an outstanding view to the mountains and the forests covered with snow.

There is a ski centre Vogel about 3 km from the hostel where visitors can enjoy the skiing in the Triglav National Park with a beautiful view over the Julian Alps.

In the evening you can warm yourself in the hostel dining room next to the fireplace, read one of the books from the shelves or watch a movie on the TV.

There are always some social games available for the guests, a table football or darts.

Hostel Pod Voglom also organizes activities such as snow rafting, day and night trips with snowshoes, winter paragliding, mountainbiking, ice climbing, sledding or skating.

For the guests who want to stay active even in the evening hours, we organize the night outdoor activities. You can join us on the longest Slovenian sledging route from Vogar Mountain. We will drive you to the starting place with our 4W terrain cars, where you will be equipped with all the necessary equipment - sledges, head lamps and information from our instructors and at the end we will be expecting you with a cup of a warm tea.

Another possibility for the visitors is also exploring the surrounding with the snowshoes which can be rented anytime at the reception. This way, you can walk further on the sideways of the Bohinj mountains and meadows, Pokljuka plateau and through the magnificent pine forests in the area, coloured in white.
