Hostelling International Brazil has been working on new deals for the Brazilian and international HI Members. One of the newest partners is the Airport Bus Service from and to Guarulhos International Airport, located some 35 km from São Paulo´s downton. HI members get a 10% discount on the fare, which costs around US$ 15. To be eligible for the discount, HI members have to print a voucher on HI Hostel Brasil´s website and show it along with the membership card.
For those who love a train ride, HI Brasil has partnerships with Trem do Pantanal, a 220 km ride with some of the most beautiful landscapes in Brazil, and FCA Trens Turísticos, which operates a line connecting the famous historical cities in the state of Minas Gerais. The ride is a trip to the past and a must for travellers visiting that region. Surrounded by trees and hills, the Serra Verde Express is another ride on HI Brazil´s discount list. And last, but not least, a train that will take you to one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world: the Crist the Redeemer overlooking the marvellous city of Rio de Janeiro.
If you are a nature lover, Bonito, in Mato Grosso do Sul, is one of the best destinations in Brazil, especially if you are a HI member. With the card, you can get discounts on most of the rides, trails and dives in the region. Waterfalls, caves, beautiful birds and a crystal clear river that will blow your mind. Another option with crystal clear waters is the dive in Arraial do Cabo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Another option is getting to know Projeto Tamar, in Praia do Forte, Bahia, an environmental project that´s been working to protect turtles for over 30 years.
For the more adventurous people, how about getting on a boat and "taking a shower" under one of the Iguaçu Falls, in Paraná? Or doing a 70 meters rappel inside a cave in Bonito? Or renting a Segway to tour around Curitiba?
