Hamburg harbour right in front of your eyes

The youth hostel »Auf dem Stintfang « is very popular with young Hamburg-visitors from abroad. The central location is fantastic: Lots of tourist highlights are reachable by public transport in a few minutes. The main attraction » Hamburg harbour« is right on the doorstep.
In August 2006, after a five years period of renovation, a hostel of superlatives was reopened. With 90.000 overnights the youth hostel is one of the most important hos-tels in the world.
The hostellers are attracted by the unique place, the standard and the atmosphere of the house as well as impressed by the spacious entrance hall with the reception. Videos showing the sights of the city are permanently being displayed on two screens.
The essential part of the youth hostel is the huge hall which serves as dining room as well as lounge with several opportunities for leisure-time activities. Huge win-dows offer a fantastic view over the lively harbour. Where else in the world can you see huge ocean liners like »Queen Mary« right in front of you while playing chess, billiards or surfing in the internet?
In the evening the international hostellers may have a cocktail in »Chicago Back-packers Bistro«. They will take home unforgettable memories of the sunset with the harbour scenery.
The youth hostel has been certified with the DJH-profile »home again« for interna-tional guests. That means: Open 24 hours, trained staff, tourist information in sev-eral languages, booking of tourist events at the tourist point and international food.

There are 357 beds in two- to six-bedded rooms all equipped with shower and toilet, some of which offer an impressing view on the river»Elbe«.
