It’s not easy to describe all opportunities which can be offered to foreigner visitors in Bulgaria, but there are some, which should not be missed.

The Black sea coast is one of the most famous places for summer holidays with its wide sandy beaches, perfect weather conditions and full range of entertainment for all ages.  The larger seaside resorts draw huge number of tourists from all Europe, who come attracted by the warm sea water, rich night life, and good facilities.

During the winter, Bulgaria can offer its high quality winter resorts as Borovets, Bansko, Pamporovo and Vitosha mountain in which foot lies the capital Sofia.

These resorts offer more than 200 km ski slopes with different difficulty and length, excellent ski equipment and accommodation at 40% lower prices than in other popular European resorts. In January 2012 at Bansko will take place “World Star Ski Event” with the special participation of Prince Albert of Monaco.

Sofia - the capital of the country ––lies at the roots of the mountain Vitosha and is famous for its ancient history and vivid night life.

Varna offers the beauty of gardens, parks, boulevards and beach paths. Tourists also admire its night life, various clubs and seaside night bars giving to the city its exciting atmosphere.

Veliko Tarnovo is well known with its architectural heritage as the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom, also known as the “Second Constantinople”. Every summer grandiose musical shows, folklore festivals and other attractions take place right  there.

Plovdiv is the other Bulgarian city which still keeps its charm as cultural capital of Bulgaria. Its most famous site is the Roman Ampitheatre - built by Emperor Trajan in the 2nd century, this magnificent marble structure, is said to have held more than 6000 spectators during its peak. Today, it is the site of various musical and ballet performances, including the annual Verdi Festival of opera concerts. Other attractions in Plovdiv are the completely preserved Revival quarter, where you can feel the spirit of 18 century.

Valley of the Thracian Kings. The valley of Kazanluk, also known as the Rose Valley, is the site of impressive tombs and burial mounds, the most famous of which is the Kazanluk Tomb included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is one of the most popular Bulgarian attractions.

Rila Monastery is the largest and most popular monastery in Bulgaria, included in UNESCO’s list. It is well known for its unique gold-plated iconostasis, as well as with its library of over 250 ancient manuscripts, wood carvings and frescoes.

Bulgaria is also a country with many nature parks which serve as havens for hikers, animal and birth watchers.

Except with their interesting flora and fauna  the majestic peaks and valleys, offer an opportunity for a wide range of extreme sports– rock climbing, trekking,  mountain bike, rafting, kayaking, canyoning, caving, aerial trips, paragliding, bungee jumping and many more.

Further, Bulgaria has around 600 natural mineral springs, with water temperatures ranging from 20 to 60 degrees Celsius, whose baths and health SPAs are also popular tourist attractions. 

Aside from standard cultural and sport attractions the visitors can become part of the live entertainment as festivals, concerts, live performance, lively music parties and more, which already became traditional.
